2x AP AC Mesh Pro

as the bees knees

Clear description given over our requirements was provided.

During the Process of installation it turned out that neither the equipment nor Celtic Broadband Limited was up to the job.

Both made an impression it is good for ambitious beginners – But serious IT requirements. nope!

– Captive Portal not working

– WiFi range of AP’s abysmal

– Overall performance: needs improving.

In the end I had to do it all by myself despite being on an extremely tight schedule with all projects here in Nydri.

In case you don’t want to know I solved it with pfsense on a Linux machine.

If you can dream it up – you can do it in pfsense

WE make excessive use of VLANs Celtic Broadband Limited suggest to keep all in one IP segment and steer well clear of VLAN as it is too complicated ( which translates to we have not yet understood how it works hence we don’t do it ).

In unifi no display of ports or IPs clumsy and clunky menus. Shockingly useless.
When ever the Servers from Ubiquity are unavailable one can not remote access ones equipment.

Dealing with VLANs is indeed counterintuitive and I now know why Celtic Broadband Limited suggests NOT to use it.

If there are ambitious novices or Celtic Broadband Limited people around they can pick up the “Dream Machine” and the APs. all together €5047,-
