Dromor Discovery 3000 - Simple Project Boat

Hello all

The cheapest Dromor Discovery 3000, 1.6m draft with a lead keel on the market and although there are jobs, nothing that is very taxing providing you like to get hands on and not pay people to do the work.

Chap I bought it off used it for the last 5 years as a floating apartment in Gouvia marina when he came out to Corfu. He only motored and never sailed. When I collected it, I’ve done a mix getting over to the mainland, but there is a sound from the cutlass bearing and I am not willing to take it further south to fix up, and sell for more, hence it is being sold at project prices.

1. Firstly I am sorry but I do not speak Greek. We can talk on Whatsapp and Viber in English.
2. Please note this is a small project boat but already in the water and has been sailing. It was lifted and antifouled last year to note.
3. Please watch the video on Youtube, (will be uploaded by this weekend) which shows the whole boat and the jobs I believe need doing.
4. I’ll summarise the jobs here for those who want a quick summary;

JOBS
– Cutlass bearing needs replacing (currently in the harbour in Plataria next to a good priced local boat yard who can lift and sort). Once you have done that, launch and do the rest of the jobs in the water if you want to save money on yard fees.
– Full engine and fuel service. (Yanmar 3GMF).
– Fridge needs wiring back up.
– Windlass needs wiring back up. (Cables to the winch are in place to note, just not connected).
– Some of the cushions need new covers making, the sponges are good.
– One of the hatches need new plastic locking pieces putting back in, currently missing.
– The tiller arm needs washers to pack it tighter.
– Needs a new foresail. The old one is there for measurements but I believe not worth repairing. Put a shout out on FB etc and I am sure there will be people with used sails available, people never throw them away!
– The main sail is workable, but grab a better one when you find available somewhere.
– Ropes are in general good condition, but wash/condition would make them new again.
– Water needs looking at. I’m not sure where the pump is at the moment and for the small cost I would replace all the hoses in time.
– The anchor chain has a few rusty links where it has sat in the water, cut out and join with a manual link or replace the whole chain for more length for not much money 2nd hand. We sold our 40m last year for about 70 eur and it was immaculate.
– Depth/speed not working. Not bothered about speed personally, the tablet provides that but the depth I would suspect is a wiring job and not sensor.
– Needs a tender/paddleboard.
